Welcome to the 29th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 29th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO) in Struga. We are thrilled to host young mathematical talents from various countries and hope that your stay will be both enjoyable and inspiring.

About JBMO
The Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO) is an esteemed mathematics competition for students aged 15.5 years or younger. Organized by the Mathematical Society of South Eastern Europe (MASSEE), the event brings together participants from its member countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Greece, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Turkey.
In addition to these member countries, the JBMO has historically welcomed guest countries, which in the past have included Azerbaijan, Croatia, France, Georgia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. This wide participation makes JBMO one of the most prestigious mathematics competitions for students in this age group. This year, we are excited to welcome a few new guest countries to join the competition.
JBMO Beginnings
The idea for the JBMO was first discussed during a meeting held in Skopje on November 14th and 15th back in 1994. Representatives from mathematical organizations in Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Serbia were present at this meeting, and it was decided that the inaugural Olympiad would take place the following year. However, due to organizational challenges, the first JBMO was ultimately held in 1997 in Serbia.
